In the early 1930s, “Milford Products” began doing business in the steam boiler industry near downtown Milford, Massachusetts. In 1934, the company relocated to its present location in Hopedale, MA and branched into the tire industry recapping tires, thus it became Milford Tire Products Inc.
During World War II through the early 1980s, recapping was done here on-site. Digger Whyte was hired by Rene Pare in 1965 and worked in the Commercial Truck Department recapping tires and doing road service. He, joined by his wife Erma Whyte became the company’s owners in 1978 and can be found here at Milford Tire Products Inc every day.
Over the last several years, Milford Tire Products Inc in Hopedale, MA has kept up to date with the many changes in the tire industry — bias to radial tires, bi-annual vehicle inspections to annual, summer and winter tires to all-season tires, standard 13”, 14”, or 15” tires to ultra hi-performance 16”, 17”, or 18”+ tires — to name just a few!
